Here's a little about me...

  • This will be my 26th year as a school counselor at Mechanicsburg Middle School.
  • I received my Master's of Education in Secondary School Counseling from Shippensburg University.
  • My undergraduate degree is from The State University of New York College at Cortland in Spanish and Political Science.
  • I am certified to teach Spanish and Social Studies in grades 7 - 12.
  • I taught 7th and 8th grade Spanish in Avon, Connecticut and in The Bronx, New York and English as a Second Language in suburban Rochester, New York.
  • Currently, I serve as the MASD School Counseling Department Coordinator for our K-12 school counselors and the Ethics Chair for the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association.

I work with students in the areas of:

  • Individual counseling
  • Small group counseling
  • Academic counseling and
  • Career exploration

I work collaboratively with teachers and academic teams to ensure student success.

I am the School Counseling Department coordinator.  Our district has 14 school counselors - 7 elementary school counselors and 7 secondary school counselors.  Our Comprehensive K-12 School Counseling program is modeled after the American School Counselors Association National model - comprised of the 3 domains: academic, social/emotional and career development.

I am the Program Director for the MMS Career Day - working closely with the MMS P.T.O. and more than 125 community and business partners to provide an individualized and comprehensive career exploration experience for all 6th, 7th and 8th graders focusing on each student's interests, talents and abilities.  The Career Education and Work standards are implemented throughout our program to ensure students are achieving the identified benchmarks.

I am an active member of the MMS Student Assistance Team.
