Welcome to CAOLA Innovators Team Science and Navigators Team Life Science!
I am a former environmental engineer certified to teach science and mathematics in grades 7-12. I have three boys, one with a Masters degree in Game Design, one with a Masters degree in Epidemiology, and a junior in Bioengineering at UPenn. This fall I am supporting the MMS CAOLA Innovators Science program Grades 6-8, and Mrs. Smith, Mr. Shotts and Mr. Kirkpatrick are graciously supporting the Navigators students in their hybrid science classes.
This year the Navigators Team Science course will be investigating topics in Life Science, including the Characteristics of Living Things, Cells, Heredity and DNA, Changes in Populations Over Time/Natural Selection, Variety of Life, and Ecosystems. We will complete a variety of activities and assignments independently, with partners, and in lab groups. Look for a Unit Packet in your child’s science folder, which we will supplement with a write-in textbook for some units. The Unit Packets contain notes and practice of unit concepts. Google Classroom will be used for many assignments and important links for each class period. In addition, a separate Google Classroom will include a question and answer based study guide of our most important unit concepts.
Class Codes for Google Classroom this year are on my website.
Thank you and looking forward to a great 7th grade year with your child!
