🎭 IT'S SHOWTIME, AND YOU'RE INVITED // Our talented Mechanicsburg Area Parks and Recreation Musical Theatre Campers from across the district have been dreaming big—and now it’s showtime!

Campers proudly present Disney’s Dare to Dream Jr., a magical, family-friendly revue celebrating 100 years of Disney music and storytelling. Join our young Imagineers as they discover the power of dreams through songs from 24 beloved Disney films—classics and new favorites alike!

🚌🛑 BUS SAFETY PROGRAM LAUNCHES MAY 5, 2025 - PLEASE SHARE // Mechanicsburg Area School District has partnered with BusPatrol and our friends at Mechanicsburg Police Department, Upper Allen Township Police Department, and Shiremanstown Police Department to launch a new school bus safety program in line with PA Motor Vehicle Code § 3345. As part of the program, all school buses transporting our Wildcats will be outfitted with stop arm photo enforcement cameras to detect vehicles that illegally pass stopped school buses while the stop sign is out and red lights are engaged. Footage obtained of a vehicle that illegally passes the stopped bus is then shared with the police department to determine whether to issue a violation by mail. The violation is reviewed by law enforcement and, once approved, a notice of violation is sent to the registered vehicle owner by mail. The program will officially launch on Monday, May 5, 2025. 👏 HELP US GIVE A 'GIANT' THANK YOU // Mechanicsburg Area School District Food Service is a recipient of GIANT's Feeding School Kids initiative. Thanks to GIANT’s support, we will receive $14,273.99 to grow school feeding programs to help eliminate child hunger within our schools. Thank YOU to all who rounded up at the register. 🎉 STUCK ON A GOOD CAUSE // Our Wildcats at Shepherdstown Elementary School recently "taped" into their generosity and raised more than $12,000 for the American Heart Association through the Kids Heart Challenge — and as a reward, Health & PE teacher Mike Wharton found himself duct taped to the gym door during a school community meeting! 😄❤️ We’re so proud of our school community for supporting heart health and showing that giving can be FUN! 📸 Photos shared courtesy Principal Dave Echelmeier. #WildcatPride

👔🎓 Move over, Mr. Echelmeier, we’ve got a new principal in town. First grader Tom Noss recently swapped the classroom for the principal’s office and led Shepherdstown Elementary School like a pro! From greeting students to answering phone calls and showing appreciation to our staff, Mr. Noss was a natural leader. Special thanks to our friends at The Wildcat Foundation for helping us to give our students opportunities to shine and show their leadership skills. We recently sent a team of Wildcats to the Council for Exceptional Children conference, where they had an opportunity to continue to learn and grow while also connecting with other educators and advocates.
